Can my boss keep insulting me like this?
My boss really has a problem with his moods. I put up with a lot of abuse, usually try to just let it go. Today, because he has lost some documents, that I told him I have not seen, has thrown a wobbler at me for telling him that i have not 'seen' then. Apparently they where in my files and he removed them but I have not actually 'seen ' them. He called me....no he shouted that I am a durr brain, that I am stupid and used the f word quite a few times too. I pride myself in my work, I am not stupid and I am good at my job, he reduced me to tears, although he doesnt know this. I just wanted to walk but I am a struggling single mother and need my job, he knows this too.
Of course I looked for them, first thing I did, he admitted he didn't think he had replaced them, but still had a go for me not actually recalling seeing them, I dont go through every single sheet of paper I file......and he is the boss, no-one above him. Thanks so far you guys.
If he is the big boss an no one else is above him he will never stop. He`s got the 'God all mighty syndrom'. Only him is right and in his mind he can do anything he wants cause he is the boss, talking to him will do nothing. If you put a complaint and you have no witness or no one willing to come out for you it`s lost ahead of time. Of course you are not stupid and he knows that otherwise you would not be working for him. Bosses don`t care about your personal situation, if you`re not good for the job they get rid of you period. If you really can not go on, look for another job while working there, do not put yourself into difficult financial situation because of him, or if he`s got bad mood swings once in a while and not just you but everyone gets it when he`s like that and you enjoy your work and he`s capable of praising you when you do a good job I would say to harden your heart a little bit.
