what are my chances of becoming a pilot of a combat helicopter or fixed wing?
I am currently still in high school, but since I was in elementary school at the start ive wanted to become a pilot. I am in very good physical condition, one of the best if not the best in my class. I'm above average at school GPA of around 3 and my vision correction is -1.75 but correctable. I do not know what else to implement this would be useful information, but try to make an educated guess with what I said, if you can.
I will address Helicopter Part of your question because that is what I know about. You will need to become an agent of flying, whether good or service. Good move by Warrant Officer Flight Training Program (WOFT) and secure accommodation is very difficult. The officers branched Aviation (if they are both quite enough good and lucky) after completing ROTC after graduating from college in 4 years (to the best of my knowledge School Officer Candidate, another source of commissioning, has no aviation sites currently allocated to them). A 3.0 GPA is very unlikely that you will get a slot in the high school to flight school program that warrants can win, so that leaves you with some limited options. 1) Go to university, getting a high average while earning your degree cumulative, and excel in your ROTC program and obtain branched aviation during your last year. It's luck, some personal work hard to determine your agency because you are competing against all other ROTC cadets in the country for the same niche branching. 2) Mobilize and after some years of service, you can try to go to Warrant Officer Career College (being in an aviation MOS should help) and get the flight training this way. Whatever you do, definitely get those eyes fixed now, the more you can be is -1.50 correctable to 20/20 and 20/40. Go to the Lyster Army Medical center's website and search for documents you need to have the Lasik / PRK surgeon perform for you. The remainder of this package is for people already in the army asked the army pay for it. Keep in mind that the army has the 'lowest' requirements (plus the largest air fleet) to enter flight training and is very relative that all slots are notoriously difficult to win. Being a pilot is the task most people would jump at if given the chance he is highly competitive, no matter where you go.
