How can i help the homeless or someone who needs the help?
I want to help the homeless or someone who cannot do it themselves, a family who needs that extra boost from somebody, how can i find a program, or things to be able to do this? i dont want websites where i donate money, i want to be able to see these people face to face and hand them a meal, or something to help them survive. any ideas? resources? please no stupid answers, i really would appreciate helpful answers.
There are several ways to help the homeless. First of all, there are charitable organisations, such as the Catholic Society of St. Vincent de Paul, who would welcome your monetary contribution. Many shelters and organisations which run them also accept donations of food and clothing, as well as toiletries and other small items (disposable diapers are really needed!). Many of these organisations accept volunteer helpers to supply and serve meals.
I would go first to my own church and ask what organisations they interact with. I would also contact my local government welfare office: they keep lists of such organisations.
Whatever you do, it is appreciated by many. Believe me, I know.
