Do you think "landing pages" are a bad idea?
Okay, I've designed and published four websites so far, and all of them have a landing page (where you have to click "enter" to enter the website). They are a really nice looking intro to the websites, but I'm wondering if maybe its turning some people off.
Please check out my websites (even if you just see the first page) and let me know if I should ditch the whole "enter" idea for future websites.

I personally don't like landing pages or high-detail graphics on web pages because my internet bandwidth sucks, but I'll try to be objective here, because those are some fancy fronts. Especially loving the first and third ones.
I think they're a good idea for those who like to get a taste of the website before they get bombarded by whatever information you wish to throw at them. To the eye that takes its appeal from art, it's fancy and looks great, and it says a lot about your web mastery that can encourage more views. On the other hand, though, the people who like to skim about and open fifty different web tabs to cram as much information as possible aren't likely to stick around for a front page. It all depends on the audience you're catering to, and since you're probably looking for the eye-catcher department, landing pages are a good idea.
