Paper cup or thermos for daily morning coffee - which has less impact on the environment?
The answer may seem obvious at first thought, but I'm not so sure. Keep in mind before you answer, the thermos has to be washed each day, adding detergents to the water supply and using electricity to heat the water or dishwasher. Also, the manufacture of the plastic or metal thermos certainly had some impact.
So, understanding all of the things that go into the life cycle of each product, can anyone give me a reasonable answer as to which is actually better for the environment? I truly want to know the answer.

Good point on the washing materials... but you're going to do dishes anyway so the thermos still comes out on top.
