What are the dangers of being a fighter pilot?
I'm thinking about joining the Air Force and becoming an officer and a pilot. I don't know which is better, fighter or bomber. I would like to be a fighter, but was wondering what a fighter actually does and what the danger was. For example, in Iraq or Afghanistan, would there be enemy planes in the air? I would fly a bomber, but I would really prefer flying a fast and agile fighter aircraft.
Getting shot at and shot down for starters... a Stinger can ruin your day, but so far not an issue in Iraq and Afganistan...
The most likely cause of injury is falling off the bar stool a the "O" club...
