Are pre set buttons on car radios old school?
I just bought a new cd deck for my car and it has a lot of options and functions however, i am starting to feel a little sorry that I bought this because its lack of buttons making it not so user friendly. I bought a kenwood kdcmp442u. However, I noticed that a lot of the hihgher end models of kenwood and pioneer also lack alot of "pre set" buttons that I am used to using on my old radio. Therefore, I was just wondering, are pre set buttons old school? I started to feel better about my purchase when I saw that even Pioneer high end models were also lacking the pre set buttons. Any opinions would be apreciated. thanks!
Old School? No, I don't think so. More like well engineered models from the OEM. A lot of aftermarket models seem to think that if they put a lot of Gee Whiz options on they can do away with basic features and no one will complain. I really haven't noticed any OEM radios doing away with them though, even when they include a lot of Gee Whiz options.
