What kind of blender will crush ice and make it slushy?
I currently have an older model Osterizer blender. The motor in it is good as it surpassed the life of a newer blender which has failed on me. The problem with my older Osterizer is that it does not crush the ice in my smoothies. It does not crush all of the small ice cubes that I put it and this is bugging me. The blender has 4 blades on it - 2 are one size and 2 a little smaller. The blender has "crush", "grind" and "chop" pulsing buttons and then about 7 mixing speeds such as "puree", "liquefy", "mix", "whip" etc.
What kind of blender is out there on the market that will crush the ice completely? I don't want to buy a lot of the junk that is available but I don't want to spend 100 bucks either.

Yes, I have enough liquid to circulate the ice. Some of the ice cubes just keep whirling around and will not crush no matter what I do.
My Osterizer does a great job, it is about 30 years old and was originally a commercial one.It has two speeds only. I wonder if you have enough liquid in your smoothies to circulate the ice?
