has a mutual close friend with me
my friend em sees him every day on the way home, and i have lunch with her everyday
and she always makes jokes like "oh you and sam would be so good together"
your lunch always reminds me of sam..i don't know, it just looks like what he has
you're like a female version of sam!
and for a party i said i was dressing up as jasmine (disney) and she said ohhh he should be aladdin!

I don't myself. I guess those who do it tend to do it because they don't want to ask and then get rejected (whether you are rejected by asking him or not, doesn't change the fact you are not his type if he does).
By the way you talk and what costume you are dressing up in, I am guessing you are in junior high. I'm also guessing you mate is also trying to help sam out. Whether your mate is doing it because sam asked her to or not is a matter that is not entirely clear.
If you are the shy girl that I think you are, just go along with the flow (not something I usually recommend to anyone but it works here).
